When I was on my way to Sitiawan for this year's Qing Ming for grandpa, thoughts kept running through my mind; and so this post is dedicated to the man who I thought led a great life and is one of the largest influence to who I am today.
The man that I adore, respect, and love so much in my life is my grandpa.
Grandpa and grandma, my love. When grandpa passed away last year, it was the saddest time of my entire life, there was nothing merely about the sad feelings that I felt at the period of time because I had my entire life spent closely to him. And to me, I truly acknowledge him as a great man because I've been at his back watching him closely as he and dad are the men that I admired a lot. Grandpa, together with grandma, raised 5 great children, and family values has always been the priorities for them. And thanks to them, we as the grandchildren were greatly blessed in our life.
Mum, grandma and dad; including grandpa, they're always the one that inspires me
And grandpa, was always my favourite person, he was always trying to provide us great times and he was always there no matter if it's ups or downs that I'm having. He and grandma will always be proud whenever their grandchildren gets a fairly good results and received awards from a certain association.
But, even if we were having difficulties, both grandpa and grandma has always been there to offer us advices and guidance. Although it may apparently seem unrelated, but yet the advices that they gave, was something very much useful for us to apply it in our life.
Some of the times, when life gets too hard on me, I ended up sobbing bit by bit while hugging a pillow at the middle of the night, and I will always think of grandpa, hoping he'll just put his hand on my shoulder and tell me "It's going to be alright".
I always see grandpa as an admirable figure because he was and he is the most optimistic person I've seen. I've never seen any other old man at his age that smiles and laughs so much whenever I talk to him. Grandpa has also been the one that always tries his best to keep up to date with us, he will always put a big smile to my face when he tries to speak in english with us. And he was always the person I'll try to seek for when I'm in trouble, I mean when my parents are scolding me for something, he will always tell my dad and mum that "it's okay" and eventually get me out of the trouble.
Grandparent always love and spoils their grandchildren, but then I took it for granted. Grandpa may not have a very good memory, but he always remember my stuffs, what course I'm taking and where I'm studying etc. He's the one that always tells me that educations is important nowadays and we should study hard. He normally tells me about his childhood time and compares it with the current time.
I admitted that I had a few moments when I find excuses to go out and didn't go and fetch them, and that's my regrets, because now, I wanted to spend more time with grandpa and talk more about myself, and to hear more stories from him too. I wanna tell him that I'm going to graduate from my degree soon. I actually wanted grandpa to be there, and be proud of my achievement.
Had always hoped that grandpa is in this pic too
During my convocation day of my diploma, I felt superbly happy and blessed that my family and grandma was able to attend the ceremony. Because I wanted them to witness my achievement from time to time, but somehow deep down inside my heart, I felt something amiss because grandpa, the man who inspired me a lot during my study time in college, wasn't able to be there. I wanted him to see me in my graduation robe.
The people that will always be my motivation factor.
So, I will now work hard for a better future, so that I can repay back everything that my previous generations has given to me! I wanted to achieve more and more in my life, not because of money or fame, it's because I wanted to make my parents, grandparents, siblings, relatives and best friends to be proud of me, and to know that I will try my best not to disappoint them. Because I'm thankful that I'm a part in their life and they're also a part in my life too. I love you all!
